The only reason being,
Well when i landed here ...i had my nest dudes...welcoming me in the airport...with the usual bang on the back... collecting the baggage we left to the parking lot to c the sizzling queen...our "Nissan Quest" blushin at me.... 15 mins later...i was in apt 211.... believe me folks...it felt like home... a sense of familiarity..... infact even i couldn't believe the feeling...i could feel the spirit of "Nest" ...a place where eight of us from the same college, same batch..same company, same client came onsite at almost the same time...and managed to get adjacent apartments too...210 n 211....
The eight: Raji(Kula vilaku..she stayed in a differnt apt though), Rajan(the famous logic), Ramesh(Meez mama), Arief (Bhai), Theo (Mr.T), Laxmi(Mr.Perfect), Anand(Nannu..Magudi) & myself dina... (dakalti)
When our kula vilaku left to india for good, Ajay(Biddu) joined us and straightaway he was part of the nest....the way biddu mingled with us so quickly amazes me till date...biddu was like a kid to us at that time.. but not anymore...;))
With 5 of the 8 getting wedlocked in succession and settling down in india...only 3 were left and i joined them....
Though the same 8 were not present now...the count of eight...is still maintained....with the legend of nest rubbing on to the apprentice\exit 107 folks (apt 107 had maddy, gopi, vasu , nirupen, venki, charls the last season and we togethter had a gr88 time)occupying apt 210....v got a new bee too...praveen....annother guy...who fits well among the scheme of "The Nest" things ;)
It was dinner time and no prizes for guessing the menu... any new bee or a re-entrant to nest is treated like a king.... had a wonderful dinner that day....w/ prawn briyani...onion salad egg..etc etc..
okie...now...apart from the feel @ home thing... the following are the intresting things i noticed...this season...
Chef Biddu - The Revelation
Bidd, who never got promoted from cutting\cleaning last season...is the chief of chefs now....biddu has beena revelation...in terms of cookin this season.... and the secret for this lies in his laptop....;) Bidde...we've wasted ur talent last season man.... U rock da...!
Paste - The Dominance
When i opened the cooler...i could see the dominance of the intruder into nest...this season...."PASTE" ...well itz not tooth paste folks.. you name a dish ..u can see a paste for that...lemon paste..tomato paste...puliogoray paste...vathalkuzhambu paste...and there was a Briyaani paste too... my goodness...this season is dominated by pastes...and v r slowly wrking on eliminating it..;) coz we at nest had never complained for not havin good food... n e ways paste has come in handy with the tight schedule we have in summer... ;)) v ren't gettin time to cook guys...coz after volley, tennis...v come home @ 10 pm...
Flicks - The Decrease
Nest had a screening comittee headed by Logic and Mr.Perfect who chose the best of flicks and v wud have one nice film screened every saturday....which has decreased now...reason....v have got lots a activities lined up our sleeve..and every one become so tired at the end of the day(EOD is 1 AM the next day for us..) V wont get sleep w/out cricket on saturdays and all the dvd we rent wud get returned without even opening them sometimes ... ;))
Chat Corner - Closed
Meez....no matter how tired he is...wud b there at nest early to welcome us after wrk with nice samosas..pakoras...pav bhaji...bajji and nest's famous Bread Veechu ... tat was last season ...and this season we have "Energy Bars" to energize ourselves for the spikin and slicin...meaning volley n Tennis.. ;)
Whatever changes may come... the spirit...the bonding...the love...the fun...the togetherness of NEST hasn't changed a bit and i'm proud to be part of this wonderful time in my life....
